18 Nov Extending Your Home's Exterior, Part IV
Homeowners often ask us, “What can I do to enhance my home’s curb appeal and not break the bank?” Licensed general contractor and Universal Roof and RbA Director of Sales, Jim Sellers, has the answer!
I’m not an expert designer, but in my experience as a builder and a contractor, I know that adding some simple exterior design features will definitely create a unique look and enhance your home’s curb appeal. Florida homes built in the last decade have a very standard look – a smaller lot line and the typical stucco front. Replacing traditional stucco bands with design features like shutters, three-dimensional sills, or “eyebrows” will add a pop of interest and draw extra attention to your home’s exterior.
Also, many area homes have the typical single-hung aluminum windows which are not very exciting. As an expert with Renewal by Andersen of Central Florida, I know that switching to casements, gliders, double-hung or cottage style windows will take your home exterior from basic to beautiful. Renewal by Andersen replacement windows possess the warmth and beauty of a painted wood window but the low maintenance of vinyl. With their renewable and patented composite materials and advanced construction, you not only enhance your home’s appearance but you improve efficiency, lower your electric bill, and have incredible sound reduction.
